Bio/Vitae

Donald Boggs is a professor and chair of the Communication & Theatre Arts Department at Anderson University. After working for Golf Network, Inc. at the age of 18 in coverage of the World Series of Golf, Boggs began his career in broadcasting as the late night voiceover host for the Late, Late, Late Show on Warner Cable in Akron, Ohio. 

He has worked professionally as a radio station manager, radio announcer, newscaster, copywriter and TV producer/director.

In more recent years, he has served as General Manager for WQME and Covenant Productions.

Over the last 32 years he has traveled to over 40 countries around the world providing consultation with missionary radio and producing TV programs. He has produced or directed well hundreds of video programs for a variety of clients and as coproducer of the long form video Turn Your Radio On, was nominated for a Dove Award in 1994.

He produced the long form music video Rivers of Joy which was the first religious video to reach the #1 spot on the Billboard magazine’s top videos chart.

Produced and/or directed programs have aired on the Family Channel, Nashville Network, Gospel Music Channel, TBN, EWTN, DayStar and others.

As Director of the Robert F. Kennedy documentary, A Ripple of Hope, Boggs was honored at the Newport Beach, Memphis International, Durango, New Orleans and Ojai Film Festivals.A Ripple of Hope also won the Hoosier Lens Award at the Indianapolis International Film Festival, best documentary at the Harvest Moon Film Festival and the Audience Choice Award at the Heartland Film Festival.

In his role as Producer/Director, he has received 23 Gold, Platinum and Multi-platinum RIAA Video Awards, 4 Telley awards, the Voice Magazine Video of the Year award, a Platinum Ava award, 2 regional Emmy nominations and multiple Gold Addy awards.

Boggs is a member of The National Academy of Televisions Arts and Sciences Lower Great Lakes Chapter (the Emmy® people).

Dr. Boggs has taught at Anderson University since 1978.
